PacificPine Sports and USA Fencing Team Up to Create New Fencing Development Centers and Competitions in China

March 8, 2024

SHENZHEN, China and HONG KONG, SAR - PacificPine Sports is pleased to announce a new partnership with USA Fencing to create a range of official licensed fencing centers and International Regional Circuit (IRC) events in China.

The multi-year partnership is an opportunity for USA Fencing to engage with high school athletes, expand the sport in the region, and provide a pathway for student-athletes wishing to pursue their university studies in the United States, primarily through NCAA programs.

USA Fencing, in association with Absolute Fencing, has already operated the IRC series since the mid 2010s; returning post-Covid with an event in Hong Kong, China, this past December. This partnership will work in collaboration those existing events with a full IRC schedule expected toward the end of the 2023-24 USA Fencing season.

"We are looking forward to partnering with PacificPine Sports to accelerate opportunities and share our expertise in Asia,” says Phil Andrews, USA Fencing CEO. "This partnership will allow us to connect with aspiring athletes who are looking to further their athletic development by pursuing further education in the U.S. which provides in turn significant support for the continued growth of fencing at the collegiate level”

The centers, which will be operated by PacificPine Sports, will offer students and local staff access to USA Fencing coaches and alumni. PacificPine Sports will have the right to use USA Fencing brand marks in promotional, advertising and marketing materials.

The new partnership follows several successful collaborations between PacificPine Sports and major global sports brands in the region, including golf with the PGA of America, top-tier tennis through the ATP Tour, and the Italian professional football club, AC Milan.

"We are excited to work with USA Fencing to bring world-class fencing training and competitions to China,” said Raymond Roessel Co-CEO of PacificPine Sports. "Through our ARCS Report (Asian Representation in College Sports) we have seen that Asian student-athletes have excelled in fencing across the 43 NCAA universities, including seven of the eight Ivy League schools, offering fencing programs and are looking forward to furthering those opportunities through this partnership.”
